Re-Opening in our NEW Space!

After 18months in business Yoga Shack BC moved over to a larger space. After spending the whole summer in 2017 remodelling with my hubby we are able to offer a gorgeous and nurturing environment for our wellness community.

A long story short on the history. Founder and proud owner Rosie Williams, of Yoga Shack BC Movement and Wellness School, has been practicing yoga for around 20 years and teaching since 2004, with over 2000 hours in various trainings of Hatha, Yin, Prenatal, Ayurveda and most recently, Aerial Yoga.

With such a deep connection to the mountains and the adventure that comes with them, the north, felt like an authentic and wild region to experience nature at it’s purest. I had dreamed of owning my own studio ever since taking my first teacher training in 2004, it has been a long journey getting here, but when we moved to the Hazelton’s just over 4 years ago, it felt like the right place to ground our roots and make it happen.

With the unfortunate passing of my amazing father, his legacy made it possible to turn this dream into reality. I re-evaluated my priorities and realised it was time for change and to do some of the things I always wanted to do.  In fact, it’s the whole reason we added the ‘BC’ to the name of the business. It’s the Province initials, but the naked truth behind that; it’s my dad’s initials.

My fantastic hubby has been so supportive, and worked tirelessly through both remodels, the first ‘cozy’ Shack, and then this much larger re-model that he worked around the clock and after hours from his ‘full time’ job. This dream would never have happened without him too. I really am so lucky and thankful for the men closest to me in my life, my dad, my husband and even my patient 7yo son.

We welcome like-minded therapists, movement teachers and wellness facilitators to work out of the Shack.  For me, the key elements are accessibility, authenticity, and community, and having an amazing team of experienced and inspiring teachers! This can be really challenging in such a small community, but we are slowly bringing together a team of wonderful people. Whether it’s an emphasis on breathing, mindfulness, building strength and self-confidence or cultivating a calm and focused mind, we hope you will enjoy your individual journey with us.

Yoga is not only my passion, but a lifestyle. Yoga can be so uplifting and transformational and we all experience our own individual journeys, but it is also about the amazing connections we make and the group energy that is experienced in a class community/environment. There is something so powerful and nurturing in being part of something bigger and sharing a love of yoga with each other.

We welcome everyone; whether an experienced yogi or simply wanting to try a class for the first time. We aim to create a space where we can all feel comfortable learning together, exploring and enjoying our yoga journeys.

“Yoga is not about touching your toes. It is what you learn on the way down”
